Optimizing Friction Welding Parameters in AISI 304 Austenitic Stainless Steel and Commercial Copper Dissimilar Joints

چکیده

By using fusion welding to weld AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel (ASS) and commercial copper, the creation of brittle intermetallic in region that compromises strength joints is primary challenge. However, friction a suitable method for joining these two materials because no obvious defects are produced at joints. The joint significantly influenced by friction-welding-process variables including pressure friction, forging, time forging. Throughout this study, central composite factorial design-based empirical relationship-building effort was carried out determine tensile strengths friction-welded steels copper alloys dissimilar from process variables. conditions were optimized employing response surface methods order attain joint’s optimum strength. This research revealed greatest created with 60 MPa, forging duration 4 s, correspondingly, 489 MPa. As result, formation interface could be identified.
